Our Story | Niche Therapists

From One Practitioner to a Collective of Specialists
Hello, I’m Nicola Vanlint, founder of Niche Therapists. I’ve been practising as a counsellor since 2008. As my client base grew, I found myself increasingly uncomfortable turning people away. I know how much courage it takes to reach out – and how challenging it can be to find the right therapist.
In 2018, I established Greenwich Wellness Rooms as a referral-led model built on trust, clinical integrity, and shared values. It allowed me to connect clients with a small number of practitioners whose work I respected and would confidently recommend. From the beginning, the focus was quality over scale.

By early 2020, we were shortlisted for the Greenwich Business Awards, reflecting the strong local reputation we had built for thoughtful, professional care.
Like many practices, we adapted quickly during the pandemic, moving sessions online, continuing to support clients through an uncertain period. That time also highlighted something important: each practitioner continued to train, specialise, and deepen their expertise. As our professional focus sharpened, it became clear our structure needed to evolve too
By 2021, we moved into a more flexible model – continuing to collaborate while offering sessions across Blackheath, Greenwich, and Woolwich, alongside online work. That evolution inspired our name: Niche Therapists.
Rather than offering a long list of services, we’ve chosen a different path: specialisation. Between us we focus on five core areas: anxiety, addiction, ADHD, relationship challenges, and phobias, allowing us to offer depth, clarity, and precision in our work.
Together, we provide evidence-based therapies including EMDR, CBT, Hypnotherapy, positive psychology and NLP.
At Niche Therapists, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach – only tailored, expert therapy grounded in experience, specialist training, and a commitment to meaningful, lasting change.
